Duo of artists, they live and work in Strasbourg. Clémence Choquet and Mickaël Gamio studied respectively at the Haute École des Arts du Rhin, Strasbourg, and at the Akbild, Vienna. Their pieces exist between sculpture, installation and video. The artist duo wishes to put their pieces into context in space, in order to create a contact between the work, the space, and the viewer. Their reflections revolve around architecture, soil, nature and society. They question the use of artificial space, the travesty of nature. Artificial light is recurrent in their work. It implies the cessation of the natural day-night cycle and its impact on nature and human work. It is the symbol of the appropriation of natural space by human beings. In this way, the mixed use of artificial materials and natural elements are the result of a reflection on the contemporary environment.
