Kristofer Hart was born in 1993. He lives and works between Toulouse and Amiens (France). Kristofer Hart focuses his research on the human condition and expresses himself through serious atmospheres, either by making the fleshly body appear dehumanized and/or tormented, or on the contrary by making it disappear and evoke it only as a trace. Contexts are often anxiety-provoking and hostile. An existence in peril where the drawing is only there to evoke the spectre, where sculpture and installation tend to make space uncomfortable, and where photography is relentlessly torturing a body that has become biomorphic.
Kristofer Hart gives us a glimpse of a humanity in decay, especially by producing environments evoking the withdrawal of the individual into an intimacy that has become perfidious, which aspires to ghost the one who inhabits it. Relationship to oneself and to identity and to the body and its fragility, between presence and absence, consistency and insignificance, so many notions that are often evoked and questioned through intimacy and domestic space. Oscillating between « who I am » and « what I am », Kristofer Hart’s work is thus an incessant and palpable reflection around a complex and uncertain condition.
