Thilleli Rahmoun was born in Algiers in 1978. She lives and works in Paris. She is graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-arts de Paris (2007) and the École Supérieure des Beaux-arts d’Alger (2001). She has presented her work as an individual, especially at the Pôle Culturel de Coulanges in Gonesse (2009), at the Centre d’art contemporain La Résidence in Allier (2009) and at the Crous de Paris gallery (2012). She took part in various collective exhibitions at the 12th Biennial of Contemporary Art in Nîmes (2008), Galerie Julio Gonzalez in Arcueil (2008), Jeune Création 2007 at the Bellevilloise in Paris, Salon du dessin contemporain de Paris with the Parisian gallery Placido (2010), Zoom Art Fair in Miami, Dubai Art Fair and Marrakech Art Fair with the El Marsa Gallery (2010 and 2011) and Yango Biennal Kinshasa (2014). She has also participated in several artist residency programs: Residency in Dompierre-sur-Besbre in the Allier with the support of the Drac Auvergne (2009), Residency in Sainte-Alvère in the Périgord with the support of the Swiss Foundation Conny Maeva (2009), Residency at the Casa de Velázquez in Madrid (2009), Residency in Chamalot with the support of the association Chamalot Résidence d’artistes and the Drac Limousin (2010). She has received, among other distinctions, the Alfonse Cellier Painting Prize from the Academy of Fine Arts of Paris (2006), the Félix Fénéon Prize from the Chancellery of the Universities of Paris (2008), the Individual Assistance for the Creation of Cultural Affairs from the Paris City Council, the Grant for the Creation of the Val-de-Marne County Council and the Project Assistance from the Drac Ile-de-France (2012). Her work is centred around the notions of metaphorical biography and paranormal feelings, which she declines in various ways (drawings, paintings, installations) and on different media.
